About Nurse2Therapist

Nurse2therapist Counselling and Psychotherapy Services is a strength-based practice seeking to help you discover inner strength and resilience! You will learn to give yourself permission to indulge in self-care, and holistic care of your mind, body, and spirit.

You care for your soul when you cater to the needs of your mind (thoughts), emotions (feelings), and your will (motivation). Body care is looking after your physical health and appearance, and spiritual care is intentionally reflecting on your values, beliefs, and convictions as a source of hope for day-to-day living. You are worth it!

what are the benefits?

The principles of cognitive behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, and psychodynamic theory are utilized to help you get in touch with unconscious thoughts and feelings that influence your decisions and behaviors. We also will work on reframing the way you look at a problem, separating the self from the problem, and executing an action plan with consistency and intentionality.

Kay Warner

Meet the Therapist

Kay Warner-English is a registered nurse (RN, BSc., Hons) of seventeen years, with nursing experience in general medicine, general surgery, rehabilitation, intensive care, and more. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University (2023). I have worked with individuals, couples, children, and families in single solution-focused sessions, brief therapy, and longer-term (12-14 sessions) case conceptualization treatment plans.

I take an integrative approach to counselling which incorporates principles from psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behaviour therapy. With my extensive nursing experience coupled with my growing counselling psychology education, I have a distinct understanding of how thoughts, emotions, and behaviour affects a person’s physiological well-being and vice-versa.

Effective Therapy & Coaching Sessions

Therapy sessions can be tailored to an individual’s unique needs and circumstances.

Through open dialogue and guided activities, therapists can help individuals gain insight into their thoughts and emotions in order to set meaningful goals and take practical steps toward meeting them.
